Anyone But Bush

These gotta have something to do with intelligence.

According to a recent survey by PIPA:

  1. 75% off Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq was providing substantial support to al Qaeda,
  2. 63% believe that clear evidence of this support has been found.
  3. 60% of Bush supporters assume that this is also the conclusion of most experts.
  4. 55% assume that this was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission.
  5. 72% of Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq had actual WMD.
  6. 52% assume that most experts believe Iraq had actual WMD.
  7. 57% also assume that Duelfer concluded Iraq had at least a major WMD program.
  8. 31% of Bush supporters recognize that the majority of people in the world oppose the US having gone to war with Iraq.
  9. 42% percent assume that views are evenly divided.

A large majority of Kerry supporters have exactly opposite perceptions.

And there has already been a series of well-publicized official government reports that debunked the notions of Iraq’s possession of WMD and the alleged al Qaeda link, including the billion dollars Duelfer report.

What is even more remarkable is that the same survey actually found that 55% of these self-described Bush supporters said NO to war IF U.S. intelligence had concluded Baghdad did not have a WMD programme and was not supporting al-Qaeda.

And 58% of them also assumed that the president would not have gone to war under those circumstances.
